100 Thieves’ Meteos Requests Trade

NA LCS Player Meteos Traded to FlyQuest

NA LCS fans received surprising news on Sunday night when 100 Thieves jungler William “Meteos” Hartman announced that he had been traded to FlyQuest. This announcement came as a shock to Meteos, indicating that he was blindsided by the news.

The situation took an interesting turn when 100 Thieves released a statement on Twitter stating that it was actually Meteos who had requested the trade. According to the organization, Meteos asked for permission to explore trade options with other teams.

Reasons Behind the Trade Request

The organization cited chemistry issues between Meteos and the team’s coaching staff as the reason behind the trade request. This was evident in recent episodes of the reality video series “The Heist,” where Meteos was seen arguing with coach Neil “pr0lly” Hammad without any resolution.

FlyQuest and the Trade Details

After receiving the trade request, 100 Thieves found a trade partner in FlyQuest. According to the press release, Meteos would have a chance to integrate with the team and compete for a spot in the starting roster. However, Meteos mentioned in a tweet that FlyQuest did not have a starting position available.

It is unclear whether this is a communication mixup or if FlyQuest has a different plan for their new jungler, considering that the current jungler, Lucas “Santorin” Larsen, is still in the process of integrating into the team. The question remains whether Meteos will continue with FlyQuest and fight for a roster spot or explore other options.

Future Plans for 100 Thieves

According to ESPN, 100 Thieves will stick with their plan to start Academy jungler Đỗ “Levi” Duy Khánh and top laner Brandon “Brandini” Chen at Rift Rivals this week. After that, it is expected that Andy “Anda” Hoang, the player acquired in exchange for Meteos, will become the regular starter for the team in the LCS, with no further changes to the roster.

Franchised NA LCS League Trade

This trade marks the first time in the era of the franchised NA LCS league that a starting player has been traded. Given the communication issues that have arisen, it would be beneficial for the league, teams, and player’s association to establish a standard process for handling and processing trade requests.
