Ready for Worlds 2022 Pick’Em? Check Out Our Top Picks Instead of Relying on Chance

Pick’Em Tips for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship

The Pick’Em event has returned for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, and this year there are even more predictions to make. As you make your choices, here are some top suggestions based on statistics and past performances from the teams.

Meta Predictions for Worlds

In terms of the meta at Worlds, which will be played on Patch 12.18, there haven’t been any major changes. However, some adjustments have affected champions like Miss Fortune and Kalista, which could impact their performance at the tournament. To be safe, we suggest avoiding bot lane champions in your Pick’Em.

On the other hand, Maokai and Hecarim have seen a rise in popularity following changes in Patch 12.17. With the reduced champion pool for junglers, Hecarim, in particular, is expected to be highly contested and potentially the most-banned champion at the tournament.

Expect Stellar Player Performances

Players from the LPL and LCK are predicted to deliver outstanding performances at Worlds. GALA from RNG is a favorite for the highest KDA, and his past performances suggest he may also secure the most kills in a single game and potentially a pentakill.

However, the Play-In stage often produces surprises, so there’s a chance another player could claim the highest kills in one game. Faker from T1 is known for his unconventional picks and could secure the most different champions in the tournament. The jungler with the most first bloods will likely come from a team known for their strong early game.

Who Will Emerge Victorious?

When it comes to predicting the winner of Worlds, Gen.G and JD Gaming are favored, but LPL teams are always full of surprises. In the Play-In stage, anything can happen, so it’s best to trust your instincts. While RNG is the favorite in Group B, Group A is a toss-up between Fnatic and Evil Geniuses.

Although North American teams have historically struggled at Worlds, Fnatic’s inconsistent performance and COVID-19 impact make Evil Geniuses a serious contender for first place in the group. For the minor region pick, GAM Esports or CTBC Flying Oyster are the safest choices since they have already qualified for the group stage.

Event Predictions

Predicting events at Worlds is challenging, as they are often unpredictable. However, based on previous World Championships and the current meta, we can offer some pointers. Reverse sweeps and pentakills are not common occurrences, so it’s safe to predict none or one reverse sweep and a low number of pentakills.

The duration of the longest single game could surpass 55 minutes, though the average duration is around 32 minutes. As for Baron steals, it’s difficult to predict but considering previous playoffs, predicting over six steals is a reasonable choice. The drake predictions are close, but Infernal drake seems to have the highest priority.

Remember to make your picks before Worlds 2022 begins on Sept. 29 and enjoy the tournament!
