Chovy showcases the most impressive play of MSI 2023 yet, possibly overlooked by LoL enthusiasts.

If you watched the 2023 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational, you may have missed one of the tournament’s best plays by Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon during T1’s series against Gen.G.

The play happened in the third game when Gen.G was on the verge of losing in their own base. T1’s AD carry Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong secured a quadra kill in a teamfight that seemed to decide the series.

As the only player remaining, Gen.G’s mid laner Chovy had very low health and was being chased by two T1 members. Despite the odds, he managed to stall out the game and prevent T1 from winning by buying a Stopwatch from the in-game shop and activating it before dying.

Chovy’s quick thinking and clutch play saved the game and allowed Gen.G to make an incredible comeback. This moment almost turned the series around, as the LCK champions pushed it to five games and almost pulled off a reverse sweep.

Although Gen.G didn’t ultimately win, Chovy’s heroic play became the highlight of the tournament so far. It was a display of skill and quick reflexes that many might not have even noticed.

Chovy and Gen.G will now face either Bilibili Gaming or JD Gaming in the lower bracket of MSI on Wednesday, May 17.
