Riot’s Oversight: League champion left behind for 8 patches without updates

Patch 12.18, also known as the 2022 Worlds patch, went live yesterday. Riot Games released patch notes that detailed balance changes, bug fixes, and system changes. However, there was a glaring omission in the patch notes. Nasus, a champion that hasn’t received any updates in eight patches, was completely left out. This raised questions about whether the buffs mentioned in the patch highlights for Nasus were actually implemented.

Although buffing Nasus is a risky move, Riot Phroxzon had mentioned some changes that the champion was supposed to receive. According to Riot Phroxzon’s tweet, Nasus was set to receive significant buffs to Wither and Fury of the Sands. The attack speed debuff of Wither was supposed to be increased from a 50 percent movement speed slow to a 75 percent movement speed slow. Additionally, the cooldown of Fury of the Sands was intended to be reduced from 120 seconds to 110 to 90 seconds.

Riot has remained silent about this oversight, leaving players uncertain about whether Patch 12.18 actually introduced the strong Nasus buffs. Hopefully, Riot will address this issue soon and confirm whether Nasus was indeed one of the major winners of the patch. Until then, players should be cautious of Nasus supports and be prepared for him to easily chase down AD carries without Cleanse.

We will continue to keep you updated on any further developments regarding Nasus buffs.
