Natus Vincere Forms VALORANT Team with Signing of 17-Year-Old Russian Player
Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) has announced that it is entering the world of VALORANT esports for the first time. The CIS organization revealed the signing of their first player, 17-year-old Russian Kirill “Cloud” Nekhozhin.
Cloud began his professional career this year and has already participated in several VCT events. He helped his former team, CrowCrowd, qualify for the VCT CIS Masters Stage One in March, where they reached the semifinals before losing to forZe. Na’Vi will continue to build their roster alongside Cloud. While the organization has a list of potential candidates, they are also open to trying out players who have competed in Challengers or Masters tournaments.
Na’Vi’s COO Aleksey “xaoc” Kucherov stated in an official statement that “VALORANT has seen significant growth worldwide since its launch. Although the scene is still developing in the CIS region, it holds a lot of promise. Therefore, our aim is to foster the game’s growth in our region and bring as many top-ranked players as possible to the world championships.”
Over the next 1-2 months, Na’Vi will conduct tryouts for different players and closely follow the results of the VCT qualifiers. They will then finalize their roster based on the outcomes.
Cloud expressed his profound honor in joining Na’Vi and the opportunity to make history with the VALORANT team. Though it will take some time for the team to start competing, Na’Vi is eager to challenge established CIS teams like Gambit and forZe.
