Professional Gamer Hiko Expresses Concerns Over VALORANT’s Spectre SMG
The captain of 100 Thieves’ VALORANT team, Spencer “Hiko” Martin, recently voiced his admiration for the accuracy of the Spectre SMG in comparison to the nerfed Stinger SMG. Hiko believes that the Spectre is too powerful at medium to long range, while the Stinger’s fast rate of fire and crazy recoil make it ineffective at these distances. According to Hiko, the Spectre’s versatility is frustrating, as it allows for double or triple headshots from across the map.
While some players have requested more SMGs in VALORANT, Hiko does not believe it is necessary. Instead, he suggests that the developers nerf the Spectre without rendering it useless. Hiko acknowledges the need for viable secondary options in the second round if players win the pistol, which is why SMGs exist in the game.
Considering the constant communication between VALORANT’s developers and professional players, it is possible that changes to the Spectre will be made if other pros share Hiko’s concerns about the current state of the SMG.
