Fnatic’s Chronicle: The Best Player in VALORANT
In the history of the VALORANT Champions Tour, there have been several players who have led their teams to victory. From Sentinels’ TenZ to the rise and fall of yay, many players have made their mark. However, one name stands above them all: Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov of Fnatic, EMEA’s top team.
Chronicle played a key role in Fnatic’s success at VCT Masters Tokyo, dominating their opponents in 2023. While duelists usually lead in statistical categories in VALORANT, Chronicle stands out as an initiator player, ranking in the top six in all the important categories. Even in international tournaments, Chronicle’s team consistently reaches the finals with impressive plays like his defense on Split that pushed Fnatic to the Masters Tokyo finals.

For those interested in the numbers, here are some of Chronicle’s tournament-leading stats. Despite his worst series being the grand finals against Fnatic, Chronicle ranked third in match rating with 1.21, sixth in average combat score with 236.8, and third in kill/death ratio with 1.33. Even when compared to duelist players with higher stats due to their kits, Chronicle still ranks high. Heading into the finals, he also had the second-highest KDA at 2.18, as shown on the broadcast.
Outside of LOCK//IN, Chronicle has consistently contributed to his team’s success. During his time on Gambit Esports, he participated in two international events, winning Stage 3 Masters Berlin and finishing second at Champions 2021. Throughout these events, Chronicle showcased great stats and stunning moments, including an ace against KRÜ Esports.
Chronicle’s impact is especially significant in international competitions. He is the only player to have multiple international trophies in the VALORANT scene and has led two different rosters to become the best team in the world. No other player can make that claim, as previous international champions have been unable to reach the same heights.
It may come as a surprise, but Chronicle is undoubtedly the greatest player in VALORANT, and his dominance shows no signs of fading.
