Former Fnatic Player Enzo Mestari Joins Team Liquid for 2024 VALORANT Season
Enzo Mestari, previously a star player for Fnatic, has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to join Team Liquid for the 2024 VALORANT season. This marks his return to the EMEA league, according to a report by Blix.gg. Enzo transitioned to the role of in-game leader after leaving Fnatic in November 2022, and his skills helped lead the mixed European team Apeks to the Ascension EMEA finals in July 2023. Rejoining a stacked EMEA team, Enzo will face off against his former teammates on Fnatic.
Despite not reaching the same level of success as his former Fnatic teammates in 2023, Enzo established himself as a top initiator and clutch player in LAN environments during his time with the team in 2022. One of his notable performances was during Fnatic’s match against Leviatán at Stage Two Masters in Copenhagen in July 2022, where he won a one-vs-three clutch by securing two kills and sticking a defuse.
Facing an early exit from the Champions 2022 tournament, Fnatic replaced Enzo with Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov. However, Enzo didn’t give up and joined a Challengers team to compete and earn his way back to the higher levels of the VALORANT scene.
Enzo’s journey brought him close to success, reaching the final series of Ascension for the EMEA region with Apeks. Unfortunately, they were defeated 3-0 by an all-French team called Gentle Mates. However, during the off-season leading up to the 2024 season, Enzo was linked with major EMEA teams like Karmine Corp, Giants Gaming, and Liquid. Ultimately, Team Liquid managed to secure his services, as reported by Blix.
With Enzo joining Team Liquid, there are now questions about the team’s roster. Igor “Redgar” Vlasov, the previous in-game leader for Liquid in 2023, is still signed to the team. Liquid now has the choice to either stick with Redgar or have Enzo take on the leadership role, provided they both stay on the team. If Redgar decides to leave, Enzo has the potential to fill in as the new IGL.
