How to Get Verified on Twitch
Earning that coveted checkmark next to your name on social media is a goal for many, a way to establish credibility and gain recognition. While the verification process on platforms like Twitter and Instagram can be confusing and challenging, Twitch has a more straightforward approach to verification.
The Current Process
The only way to obtain a verified badge on Twitch right now is by becoming a Partner with the platform. However, Twitch plans to introduce a new policy that will allow more users to qualify for verification, according to their guide for user-type chat badges.
The Path to Partner
Becoming an Affiliate is the first step towards becoming a Twitch Partner. The requirements for the “Path to Partner” are as follows:
- Stream for at least 25 hours over a 30-day period.
- Stream on at least 12 unique days within a 30-day period.
- Maintain an average viewership of 75 over the same 30-day period.
Meeting these requirements only makes you eligible to apply for partnership; it does not guarantee acceptance. Once you have achieved the “Path to Partner” goals, you can click on the “Apply” button in your Twitch profile to access the Partner application.
The Application Process
Twitch typically takes around a week and a half (seven business days) to process and respond to applications. The strength of your brand, community, chat interactions, viewership, and streaming numbers will greatly influence your chances of becoming a Twitch Partner.
