The FACEIT London Major Approaches: Roster Lock Deadline Approaching
The highly-anticipated FACEIT London Major is just around the corner, and teams are busy finalizing their lineups ahead of the roster lock.
With the roster lock deadline of August 5 quickly approaching, FACEIT has made an important announcement. Players who have already competed in the Minor championships will now be allowed to compete in the upcoming 13th Valve Major.
This is a major change compared to previous Majors, as players were previously prevented from playing with a team if they were eliminated in past qualifying stages of the Major. At ELEAGUE Boston, we saw a notable example of this issue with SK Gaming (now MIBR), where Joao “felps” Vasconcellos played instead of Ricardo “boltz” Prass, who was supposed to be the team’s newest fifth member. These rules are set by Valve, the developer of CS:GO, and tournament organizer ELEAGUE.
