World of Warcraft MoP Remix players are split into two groups: Frog Men and Non-Froggers

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Remix: Non-Froggers vs. Frog Men

The player base of World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria Remix can be divided into two categories: the Non-Froggers and the Frog Men. The Non-Froggers play the game in the traditional manner, whilst the Frog Men use speed-leveling and farming techniques to improve their efficiency.

When the WoW MoP Remix was released, it attempted to provide players a faster experience of the game’s fifth expansion, which was initially released in 2012. This version allowed players to relive the expansion while also having the opportunity to gain unusual items.

While some players found the change in pace pleasant, others preferred a speedier gameplay experience. These gamers went to the Timeless Isle to farm Gulp Frogs, garnering them the nickname “Frog Men.” These hyper-spawning creatures offered a speedy method to level up, earn Bronze, and obtain Lesser Charms of Good Fortune.

Blizzard, the game’s developer, quickly nerfed the Gulp Frogs, causing them to drop fewer Lesser Charms and lowering the usefulness of the farming strategy. However, this did not deter the Frog Men, who rapidly discovered new hyper-spawning mobs to harvest, such as Cranes and Sap Flies. Blizzard has always sought to nerf these approaches, but the Frog Men always find new ways to improve their gaming.

Interestingly, the Gulp Frog farming method has been in World of Warcraft since 2012, and players were already exploiting it during the MoP Remix PTR test.

In a Reddit post, one user complained that the limited-time event was not properly prepared, implying that the detected vulnerabilities should have been corrected during the PTR testing phase. The user ascribed the issues to a lack of resource allocation by management.

This poses the question: Who is playing the game incorrectly, the Frog Men or the Non-Froggers?

Some may claim that the Non-Froggers are playing the game appropriately, while others may support the Frog Men. After all, the game instructs players to complete the endgame as rapidly as possible. Furthermore, Blizzard effectively recycled a 12-year-old expansion that many players, particularly the Frog Men, had already completed several times. It is logical that people want an even speedier experience.

Whether you identify as a Frog Man or a Non-Frogger, it is clear that there are different ways to enjoy World of Warcraft. Regardless of Blizzard’s intentions, players continue to find new ways to improve their gameplay experience.
