Vitality Upsets Misfits Gaming in LEC Spring Split
It’s the final day of the LEC Spring Split, and the teams are showing their determination to fight till the end.
In a surprising turn of events, Vitality managed to defeat Misfits Gaming today with a dominating performance, ending the game in just 28 minutes. Misfits only secured four kills throughout the match and are now unable to qualify for the playoffs.
The standout players in this League of Legends game were Vitality’s bottom lane duo. Labrov excelled in engaging plays as Alistar, while Crownshot showcased his skill on Xayah, dying only once as Misfits’ Nexus was about to be destroyed. This game marked a significant improvement in Vitality’s performance, as they showed an upward trend towards the end of the split, despite remaining at the bottom of the LEC standings in the spring.
Although Vitality themselves have little chance of making it to the playoffs, their victory secured playoff spots for two other teams. With Misfits out of contention, Fnatic and SK Gaming are now guaranteed a top-six finish. This means that five out of the six playoff spots have been locked: Rogue, G2, Fnatic, SK, and MAD Lions will all make another appearance on our screens this spring.
The last playoff spot is up for grabs in a highly anticipated showdown between Excel and Schalke 04. If Excel wins, it will be their first time qualifying for the LEC playoffs. On the other hand, if they lose, it will be their fifth consecutive split without making it to the top six.
