How to add special characters and symbols to your name in VALORANT
Adding symbols to your Riot ID is simple. Follow these steps:
1. Go to riotidsymbols.com.
2. Filter and search for the symbols you want to use.
3. Left-click on your desired symbols to copy them.
4. Head to the Riot account creation page.
5. Paste your preferred symbol.
You can also use the riotidsymbols website to check if the name you want to use is a valid Riot ID. Just paste the name in the “Check Riot ID Validity” box on the site.
After confirming your name is valid, click the clipboard icon on the site to copy your entire name. You can then paste it directly as your new Riot ID. This allows you to create your preferred name on riotidsymbols before entering it on the Riot website.
How to change your Riot ID
If you’ve been using the standard alphabet for your Riot ID, you can use this tool to change your name. Remember, you can change your Riot ID once every 30 days. So if you don’t love your new name, you can change it again in a month.
What’s allowed in a Riot ID?
Your Riot ID cannot include anything profane or inappropriate. Additionally, it cannot contain the word “Riot”. Other than those limitations, anything between 3 and 16 characters long is fair game.
It’s generally best not to use your real name as your Riot ID. However, if there’s a specific character in VALORANT that you main, you could use their real name to embrace your inner roleplaying self.
Can players have the same name in VALORANT?
You can have the same Riot ID or Game Name as other players. However, your tagline, which is the sequence of three to five letters and/or numbers that come after your Riot ID, has to be unique to you. So you and your friends can change your Riot IDs around to have some themed names to play with.
