Fnatic Signs Former Gen.G Coach Elmapuddy as New Head Coach for VALORANT

Australian coach Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit, formerly the head coach of Gen.G’s CS:GO team, has made the move to Fnatic as their new head coach for the VCT 2024 season. This marks Elmapuddy’s first team swap in his VALORANT coaching career, having been dedicated to Gen.G since 2021. He played a crucial role in Gen.G’s success, helping them finish fourth in the Pacific League after the team rebuilt and relocated to Korea.

Exciting Announcement on Twitter

Fnatic announced the signing of Elmapuddy as their new VALORANT head coach on Twitter, inviting fans to give him a warm welcome. The team is excited about this new addition and is looking forward to the upcoming Red Bull Homegrounds event in November.

A High Bar to Fill

Elmapuddy has some big shoes to fill as he takes on the role of head coach for a team that was the best in the VCT 2023 season. Fnatic, led by IGL Jake “Boaster” Howlett, duelist Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev, and former head coach Jacob “mini” Harris, dominated the competition and won both LOCK//IN and Masters Tokyo. Despite a fourth-place finish in Champions 2023, Fnatic proved themselves as a powerful team with a roster of top-tier players.

Although Elmapuddy has never won a major tournament in VALORANT, he brings with him a wealth of experience in working with players from diverse backgrounds and languages. The challenge now is to maintain Fnatic’s status as a top team in the world.

Fnatic may have lost their head coach, but they still have a top-four team capable of winning it all.

Fnatic fans have been left stunned by the departure of their former head coach, mini, after a successful run in the VCT 2023 season. It remains to be seen how this change will affect the team moving forward.
