BreakThru remains unfazed by early setback in NA VALORANT Challengers qualifying clash with Stewie2K and The Nation

BreakThru VALORANT Roster Secures Spot in NA Challengers League

The BreakThru VALORANT roster emerged victorious against the star-studded The Nation roster to claim the first open qualifier spot in the NA VALORANT Challengers League. Despite The Nation’s team being stacked with star power, BreakThru proved to be an equally dangerous opponent.

While The Nation boasts big names like Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip, Matthew “Wardell” Yu, and Braxton “brax” Pierce, the BreakThru roster may not have the same level of star power. However, they have the distinction of being the first team to make it out of the open qualifiers.

BreakThru features players who have participated in VCT for teams like Ghose, FaZe, Luminosity, TSM Academy, among others. The roster includes Brady “thief” Dever, Alex “aproto” Protopapas, Brock “brawk” Somerhalder, Xavier “flyuh” Carlson, and Tyler “sym” Porter.

Throughout the 256-team qualifier, BreakThru didn’t lose a single series. The format switched to double-elimination after reducing the number of teams from 256 to 32.

In the double-elimination portion of the bracket, BreakThru remained undefeated until facing The Nation. However, after losing decisively on map one, Fracture (13-1), their chances seemed uncertain.

However, BreakThru did not break down. It was brawk who led the team with outstanding performances on Sova in both Haven (13-9) and Ascent (13-10). With their qualification secured, the BreakThru players can now look forward to the start of the NA VALORANT Challengers League on February 1.

The Nation may be down, but they still have a chance in the lower bracket. If they fail to win their next game, they will be eliminated from the qualifier and will need to regroup for the final last-chance qualifier next week.
