Team Aster Dominates ESL One Hamburg with Perfect Record
After the second day of ESL One Hamburg, Team Aster emerges as the only unbeaten team in the tournament. They currently hold a flawless 8-0 record in Group B, defeating Virtus.pro, Ninjas in Pyjamas, EVOS Esports, and compLexity Gaming. With their impressive performance, Team Aster has secured a spot in the upper bracket playoffs.
Virtus.pro is currently holding the second spot in Group B with a 6-2 record, also guaranteeing themselves a place in the upper bracket. Meanwhile, Forward Gaming and NiP are sitting in the lower bracket positions with records of 4-4 and 3-5 respectively, but only Forward Gaming is locked in.
NiP’s Fate Hangs in the Balance
If NiP loses today, compLexity Gaming will have a chance to take their spot. Unfortunately, EVOS Esports has already been eliminated from the tournament after finishing with a disappointing 1-7 record in the group stage.
Group A: Intense Playoff Battle
Unlike Group B, Group A is witnessing a fierce battle for playoff positioning among all teams. Vici Gaming and Team Secret currently hold the top two spots with records of 6-2. If both teams win their next matches, they will secure their places in the upper bracket playoffs.
On the other hand, Evil Geniuses fell to a 4-4 record despite winning a game against Vici Gaming. This puts them in a tie with paiN Gaming for the third and fourth spots in the group. If nothing changes, both teams will move into the lower bracket playoffs. However, if either Vici Gaming or Team Secret lose their remaining matches, EG or paiN Gaming might have a chance to move up.
Mineski and Alliance are in a similar situation, with slim hopes of reaching the playoffs. With records of 2-6, they need EG or paiN Gaming to lose both of their remaining matches in order to have a shot at the lower bracket playoffs.
In the end, three teams will join EVOS Esports in being eliminated before the lower bracket playoffs begin.
