Team Empire emerges victorious in the Global Grand Masters

Team Empire Emerges as Champions of Global Grand Masters Season One in Dota 2

Team Empire proved their dominance in the esports world by defeating Vega Squadron in a thrilling best-of-five grand finals to claim the title and a prize pool of $25,000.

However, the tournament could have taken a different turn if Team Liquid had not withdrawn. Originally, Team Empire was set to face Team Liquid in the second round of the winners bracket. But with their withdrawal, Power Rangers took their place, having recently lost to Team Liquid.

Despite the unexpected change, Team Empire fought their way through Power Rangers and Alliance to secure a spot in the grand finals against Vega Squadron. On the other hand, Vega Squadron showcased their resilience by defeating Escape Gaming and Power Rangers in the losers bracket, ultimately earning their revenge against Alliance.

Having the upper hand as the winners bracket finalists, Team Empire only needed two more wins to clinch the championship. And they did just that, sweeping Vega Squadron in a 3-0 victory.

This victory adds to Team Empire’s successful 2016 campaign, following their win in the BTS Europe #2 in February.
