T1 renews contracts of Oner and Gumayusi for 2022 LCK season

T1 Signs Contract Extensions for Oner and Gumayusi for the 2022 LCK Season

T1, the prominent League of Legends team, is making moves to solidify its roster for the upcoming 2022 LCK season. The team has decided to extend the contracts of jungler Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon and AD carry Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong. T1 has high hopes for these young players and expects them to deliver exceptional performances next year.

T1 underwent several changes to its roster throughout 2021, experimenting with a 10-man lineup. However, after parting ways with coaches Yang “Daeny” Dae-in and Lee “Zefa” Jae-min in July, the team pinned its hopes on Oner and Gumayusi. Despite their lack of experience, the duo surpassed expectations and secured a spot in Worlds 2021.

On the international stage, Oner and Gumayusi displayed stability and reliability, leading T1 to reach the semifinals of the tournament held in Reykjavík, Iceland in October and November. The team narrowly lost with a score of 3-2 against DWG KIA, the eventual finalists.

As it currently stands, T1’s roster for next year will comprise Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, Faker, Oner, and Gumayusi. However, there are indications that support player Ryu “Keria” Min-seok may also receive a contract extension. His current contract is set to expire in November 2022.
