Hasan Piker and Destiny: A Clash of Political Streamers
Hasan Piker and Destiny are well-known political streamers on their respective platforms. However, despite their popularity, the two streamers and their fanbases find themselves in constant conflict. Most recently, Destiny took a jab at Hasan’s declining viewership.
The Rise of Destiny
Destiny has been streaming debate content since 2011, but he gained significant traction in the past year. Engaging in debates with high-profile figures like Jordan Peterson and Lex Fridman has garnered widespread attention for Destiny. This growing popularity has made it difficult for these streaming rivals to ignore each other. Alongside xQc and Greekgodx, Destiny targeted Hasan on a Kick stream on March 27. He began by reading alleged screenshots from Hasan’s Discord, expressing his disappointment in his own community and claiming they “killed all the normies.”
Theories Behind Hasan’s Declining Viewership
Destiny went on to theorize that Hasan’s drop in viewership and frustrations with his community stem from his reluctance to collaborate with others. Destiny said, “I don’t think he’s got good connections. He might be able to reach out to a quasi-celebrity and bring them on [stream], but he’s not converting a lot of that person’s fans to his stream.”
The Fallout with Ethan Klein
Destiny also pointed out Hasan’s recent falling out with Ethan Klein of the H3 Podcast. The duo previously hosted a political podcast called The Leftovers, but conflicts over the Palestine conflict led to the podcast going on indefinite hiatus in November 2023. Destiny believes this loss of collaboration was a significant factor in the viewers Hasan lost.
Hasan’s Decline in Viewership
According to TwitchTracker, Hasan has experienced a decline in viewership over the past year. In March 2023, he averaged 31,240 concurrent viewers with 5.83 million hours watched. However, his numbers have since dropped to an average of 18,862 viewers with 3.86 million hours watched. Despite this decline, Hasan still remains one of the most-viewed streamers on Twitch.
A Feud That Persists
While Destiny offered various reasons for Hasan’s reported “fall off,” it is clear that he still harbors resentment towards the Twitch streamer. When Greekgodx accused Destiny of enjoying Hasan’s viewership losses, Destiny confirmed his disdain, stating, “Well, yeah, I fucking hate him, of course. I think he’s an evil person.”
A Collaboration Unlikely
For fans who enjoy both Hasan and Destiny, a collaboration seems unlikely. Destiny has fired the most recent shot, and it appears that this feud will continue for the foreseeable future.
