PSG-LGD Gaming Secures Spot in The International 8

PSG-LGD Gaming has solidified their spot in The International 8 after defeating Newbee in yesterday’s MDL Changsha action. They join Virtus Pro, Team Liquid, and Team Secret as one of the four teams to secure an invite to the tournament, which will be held in August.

With a total of 4,746 points, PSG-LGD Gaming is now mathematically guaranteed to be invited to the event in Vancouver. Mineski, the champions of DAC 2018, trail them by over 1,500 points.

Auspicious Start for PSG-LGD Gaming

This marks an auspicious start for PSG-LGD Gaming, especially considering their recent partnership with France-based football club Paris Saint-Germain. The collaboration signifies PSG’s return to the MOBA genre after disbanding their League of Legends squad last October.

Additionally, young Dota 2 player Yang “Chalice” Shenyi, who is only nineteen years old, is making a name for himself in the competitive scene. After a year with Team MAX in the second tier of the Chinese scene, Chalice joined LGD and has not only qualified for TI8 but also won the Epicenter XL Major, his first victory at a Valve event.

Yap “xNova” Jian Wei’s Long-Awaited Opportunity

Another player to watch is twenty-year-old Yap “xNova” Jian Wei, whose journey to the world championship has been a long time coming. Known for his impressive support play while with Malaysian organization WarriorsGaming Unity, xNova has worked hard for three years to reach this point. His contributions to the team since joining PSG-LGD Gaming at the start of the year speak for themselves, making him a deserving player on Dota 2’s biggest stage.

Today, PSG-LGD Gaming will face Vici Gaming in the lower bracket finals at MDL Changsha. If they emerge victorious, they will move on to the grand finals against Vici Gaming J Storm.
