Championship Sunday at ESL One Birmingham
Today at ESL One Birmingham, Fnatic is battling paiN Gaming for third place and a chance to earn 300 Dota 2 Pro Circuit points.
In the previous match, Virtus Pro easily defeated paiN Gaming in just two games, showing their dominance in the Pro Circuit season.
Virtus Pro demonstrated their strength as a team, making them the favorites to win The International 8 later this year. Meanwhile, Team Liquid, the winners of TI7, have not been performing as well in recent events.
Unfortunately, paiN Gaming’s hot streak came to an end in this event. They had defeated strong teams like DAC 2018 champions Mineski and Team Liquid.
Fnatic’s series against OpTic went to three games, with the first two ending quickly. OpTic’s use of Visage in the first game helped them secure the laning phase. However, Fnatic turned things around in the second game with a dominant performance.
In the third game, OpTic’s strategy with Lycan shut down Fnatic and secured their victory. EternaLEnVy’s Spectre couldn’t farm efficiently against OpTic’s aggression.
OpTic now has the opportunity to contend for a direct invite to TI8 by defeating Virtus Pro. However, a second-place finish will not be enough to secure the invite.
Stay tuned to find out the exciting conclusion of ESL One Birmingham in the grand finals, starting at 9am CT.
