Ninjas in Pyjamas Upsets OG at The Bucharest Minor
Day four of The Bucharest Minor saw an unexpected turn of events as Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) pulled off a surprising upset against OG. The day began with a competitive match between Keen Gaming and Team Team, with Keen Gaming emerging victorious with a 2-1 win. Following this, OG and NiP faced off in the next round.
OG’s Shaky Performance
Prior to the match, fans were divided on who would come out on top. OG, the reigning International champions, had delivered shaky performances against Gambit Esports in the upper bracket. On the other hand, NiP had a convincing win against Playmakers Esports in the first round. Despite 51% of voters favoring OG, things took a turn in NiP’s favor early on.
A Surprising Turn of Events
OG took the lead in the opening game, but NiP quickly turned the tables. They controlled the pace, holding OG to single-digit kills and ultimately tying the series 1-1. NiP carried the momentum into the final game, dominating OG with a final K/D of 32-14. They secured a 2-1 victory and knocked OG out of the Minor.
OG’s Struggles Continue
OG’s loss adds to their poor start in the 2018-19 Dota Pro Circuit season. They have yet to compete in a Major or place within the top three at a Minor this season.
Unfortunately, NiP couldn’t capitalize on their upset as they faced the team that sent them to the lower bracket in the first place. Keen Gaming proved to be too strong for NiP, using effective strategies and counters to secure a 2-0 sweep. Keen Gaming will now face Gambit in the lower bracket finals, with the winner advancing to the grand finals against the undefeated EHOME.
