Rekkles says goodbye to Fnatic, set for career transition

Today, Rekkles, an iconic player in the European League of Legends scene, officially parted ways with Fnatic after more than a decade. This departure marks the beginning of a new chapter in Rekkles’ career, as he transitions from the AD carry position to the support role.

In a tweet announced by both parties, Rekkles expressed his gratitude to Fnatic and shared his excitement for his future endeavors. He stated that his skills and perspective of the game are better suited for the support role, and he hopes to contribute more to a team’s success in this new position.

Rekkles’ decision to change roles comes after a period of personal growth and reflection. In an interview earlier this year, he discussed his journey and the transformation he underwent as a player. He emphasized the importance of supporting and contributing to his team both on and off the game.

Following his departure from Fnatic in 2021 and a short stint with G2 Esports, Rekkles returned to Fnatic in 2023. However, he was subsequently replaced by Oh “Noah” Hyeon-taek before the Summer Split.

What’s next for Rekkles?

As the League offseason is just beginning and Worlds 2023 is underway, it remains uncertain which team Rekkles will join next. Fans can only hope to see him back on the LEC stage in the future.
