The 2021 LEC Spring Split Superweek
The 2021 LEC Spring Split playoffs are almost here, but before we dive into the postseason, we have an entire superweek of exciting games ahead.
In this superweek, the final match of the week for the 2021 Spring Split will be between G2 Esports and MAD Lions, as announced by the LEC.
In the beginning of the season, the first game was played between G2 and MAD, and now, it will serve as the featured matchup to close out the split. While the first game was one-sided in favor of G2, both teams have grown and developed since then.
Currently, MAD is tied for third place alongside Fnatic and has secured a spot in the playoffs. They boast the fourth-highest kill count in the LEC and have maintained a solid early game, with an average gold difference of 568 at 15 minutes, according to Oracle’s Elixir.
MAD also has one of the league’s rising stars in their jungler, Elyoya. The rookie has been a major contributor to their success, ranking second in kills among LEC junglers and having the highest kill participation percentage in his role. He also accounts for a staggering 30.2 percent of his team’s total kills, according to Oracle’s Elixir.
Meanwhile, G2 continues to dominate the region. With Rekkles joining the team at the end of 2020, the veteran AD carry has stepped up his game and leads the league with a 14.9 KDA. He has the fewest deaths and the most kills in the LEC, while also dealing the highest average damage per minute among ADCs in the league.
This game between G2 Esports and MAD Lions promises to be explosive from the very first minute and will be one of the most thrilling series of the weekend. Additionally, we can look forward to other big matches during the three-day superweek, including Fnatic vs. Rogue.
Don’t miss any of the action as week eight of the 2021 LEC Spring Split kicks off on Friday, March 12 at 11am CT.
