CLG Sets Record for Fastest First Blood in Pro League of Legends

CLG Breaks Record for Fastest First Blood in League of Legends History

In the LCS Spring Split, CLG may not have achieved as many wins as some other teams, but their early game performance has been consistently strong. Out of the 18 games they played, CLG secured first blood in 16 of them.

In today’s match against Evil Geniuses, CLG set a new record for the fastest first blood in professional League of Legends history. Just 34 seconds into the game, CLG executed a coordinated attack on an unsuspecting Jiizuke, resulting in a quick and efficient kill. Finn, CLG’s top laner, secured the first kill of the game.

The previous record of 39 seconds had stood for over seven years, dating back to a match in the 2013 World Championship between Lemondogs and SK Telecom T1.

Unfortunately, CLG’s early lead did not translate into a victory against Evil Geniuses. Jiizuke rebounded after conceding first blood and contributed significantly to his team’s win with a scoreline of 10/6/11.

Out of all their Spring Split games, CLG only failed to secure first blood in two matches: yesterday’s game against Golden Guardians and last weekend’s contest against Team Liquid.

Although CLG’s run in the Spring Split has ended and they won’t be participating in the Mid-Season Showdown, they can use this opportunity to refine their early game strategies for the Summer Split. With 27 games left in the 2021 season, CLG has the potential to break even more records if they can maintain their dominance in the early game.
