Genius Sports Limited has partnered with the Lithuanian Basketball League (Betsafe-LKL) to introduce its computer vision system in every venue. This makes Betsafe-LKL the first basketball league to automate the capture of eventing data and live video production through a single system.
Using AI technology, Genius Sports will transform this data and video into valuable insights, immersive fan experiences, and new sponsorship opportunities for the league and its teams. The company uses AI to read, process, and understand gameplay in real-time, providing coaches, players, and fans with a comprehensive understanding of the game.
All Betsafe-LKL teams will have access to Genius Sports’ cutting-edge Insight tool, which is used by every NBA team. Insight synchronizes tracking data with video, enabling analysts to quickly find answers to tactical and performance questions.
In addition, Genius Sports will utilize AI-driven augmentation technology to enhance live broadcast video with real-time data and graphics, offering new sponsorable inventory for the league’s commercial partners.
The rollout of Genius Sports’ computer vision system in all Betsafe-LKL stadiums is set to be completed in time for the 2024/25 season.
