Kikis set to play for Vitality this week against Giants

Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek Starts for Team Vitality

Long-time EU LCS veteran Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek, who recently joined Team Vitality as a substitute, will be starting for the team this week, as stated in his Facebook post today. Team manager Clément Laparra confirmed the news with Dot Esports.

Possible Role Swap for Giants Match

Kikis’ announcement only mentions his participation in the game against Giants, which suggests that regular starting jungler Erberk “Gilius” Demir may still start in their other match against ROCCAT. Although the team initially mentioned that Kikis would only serve as a sub for the foreseeable future, the decision to start him comes as a surprise.

Kikis’ Accomplishments in EU LCS

Kikis has played for renowned teams such as Fnatic, G2 Esports, and Unicorns of Love throughout his long EU LCS career. While Unicorns of Love may not be performing well this year, they were once a formidable team.

Vitality’s Challenges and Kikis’ Experience

Vitality often struggles in longer games, possibly due to their lack of experience. While some players on Vitality have been in the league for a few years, they haven’t achieved much success. In contrast, Kikis brings valuable experience to the team.

The Giants are currently tied for eighth place in the standings, while Vitality is tied for fifth. This makes the Giants a good practice opponent for Kikis, considering his short duration with the team. Vitality’s second game of the week is against ROCCAT, who are also in fifth place. This match holds more pressure as it may determine the middle of the pack standings, so Gilius is expected to return for that game.

Vitality’s first game against the Giants starts at 1pm CT tomorrow.
