Unmentioned Diablo 4 Feature in Patch Notes Sparks Division Among Players

A Noticeable UI Change Divides the Diablo 4 Community

In a recent Diablo 4 patch on May 28, players noticed a new feature—an UI icon that displays the materials they pick up. However, this addition has sparked a heated debate within the community.

Cluttered Screen and Non-Essential Resources

Players took to Reddit to express their discontent with this unexpected change. Some argued that the UI icon clutters the screen and hinders readability. For instance, they pointed out the constant appearance of non-essential resources like Gallowvine, which is frequently gathered for crafting.

Improving Accessibility or Overwhelming Feedback?

The addition of this feature was likely intended to provide visual feedback to players regarding the items they collect without the need to strain their eyes. While it enhances the accessibility of Diablo 4, some players feel overwhelmed by the constant feedback. Many have called for an option to toggle this feature in the game’s options menu.

Interestingly, this feature was already present in the Public Test Realm prior to the official update release. Some players speculate that it might have unintentionally made its way into the build, as it wasn’t highly regarded during testing.

Opinions among players are split. Some expressed surprise that the feature wasn’t present in the game from the start, while others believe it looks “out of place” and even questioned if there was a problem with Diablo 4 while playing.

As of now, the developers have not commented on the fate of this feature. Players will have to keep an eye on their flower-picking skills in Diablo 4, whether they like it or not.
