Leaked Information Suggests Next Nintendo Console Could Surpass Expectations in Power

The Next Generation of Nintendo Switch: What to Expect

Nintendo enthusiasts will be thrilled with this news! The successor to the beloved Nintendo Switch is on the way, and new hardware leaks have fueled fans’ excitement. If the rumors are correct, the next hybrid console may be more powerful than anyone anticipated.

Nintendo Official Announcement

During a recent earnings call, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa indicated that the “successor” of the Nintendo Switch would be revealed on March 31, 2025. He referred to it as the “Switch next model,” implying that it will have numerous enhancements. While data are scant at the moment, leaked hardware information has given us a sneak peek at what we may expect from this highly anticipated platform.

Improved performance and specifications.

According to reports, the upcoming Nintendo Switch will offer major performance gains. Previous leaks stated that it will achieve greater frame rates and resolutions by utilizing Nvidia’s T239 processor and innovative technologies like as deep learning super sampling (DLSS). However, early rumors suggested that the console’s power would be comparable to that of prior generations. However, recent updates portray a different image, bringing the new Switch closer to the Xbox Series S in terms of performance.

Leaked information from numerous sources, including Famiboards, claims that the upcoming Switch may contain 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. These characteristics would place the system in between the Switch OLED and the Steam Deck in terms of size and capabilities, allowing it to run recent games fluently while also overcoming some of Nintendo’s present hardware limitations.

To put things in perspective, the original Switch had 4GB of RAM, the PS4 had 8GB of RAM, and the Xbox Series S had 10GB of RAM. If the reported information about the Switch successor’s 12GB of RAM is correct, Nintendo’s system would be greatly improved and brought closer to current-generation competitors. The new Switch’s graphics capabilities, when combined with Nvidia’s “black magic” features like DLSS, are promised to be impressive.

Beyond Hardware: Backward Compatibility, and More

Felipe “Necro,” editor-in-chief of Universo Nintendo and a well-known Switch hardware expert, suggests that the new system’s performance will fall somewhere between the PS4 Pro and the Xbox Series S. Other publications have corroborated the validity of this claim and commended the console’s remarkable CPU capabilities.

If you are concerned about using Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 3.1 instead of an SSD, rest assured that UFS 3.1 has speeds comparable to NVME SSDs often seen in recent consoles. Experts in the gaming industry have acknowledged UFS 3.1’s promise, comparing it to a “diet NVME” that nevertheless performs well.

According to additional reports, the Switch successor will be fully backward compatible with the original Switch, allowing gamers to continue using their existing game libraries on the new device. The delivery date is scheduled to be around March 2025, according to sources, with further information coming later this year.

While Nintendo has yet to confirm any of these reports, insiders warn that this information should be treated with a grain of salt until official information is provided. Fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the next device in action, but rumor and breakdowns from reputable sources provide exciting glimpses into what the next generation of Nintendo Switch may bring.
