Exciting Narratives Await in the Final Week of the 2021 LEC Spring Split

As the LEC’s 2021 Spring Split regular season comes to a close, League of Legends fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming playoff race. Before we get to that, however, there’s still plenty of action to watch during the final LEC superweek.

With only three games left, there are still three playoff spots up for grabs. Six teams are still in contention, and while some have a better chance than others, anything can happen in the LEC.

Maximum Spice

It’s highly unlikely that Fnatic won’t make the playoffs. All they need to do is win one of their upcoming games against Schalke 04 and Misfits Gaming before facing their toughest opponent, Rogue. Both Schalke and Misfits are still in the playoff race, but they have fewer wins than Fnatic. Even if Fnatic were to stumble, they would still have a chance to make it through tiebreakers.

Despite dropping six games against lower-seeded rosters, Fnatic’s aggressive early-game style has helped them secure victories. They just need to perform well in their upcoming matches and gain confidence before the playoffs.

Contenders or Pretenders?

SK Gaming has caught the attention of the LEC after going on a five-game winning streak. However, some experts are cautious about fully supporting them since they’ve only beaten teams other than Rogue, G2, and Fnatic. They did manage to defeat MAD Lions, which was their toughest win so far.

It’s important to remember that SK Gaming consists of four rookies. Making the playoffs would be an impressive achievement for their first LEC season. If they can win against one of the top two teams in the league this superweek, it would give them a significant boost heading into the playoffs.

Tiebreaker Time

This weekend, the battle for the sixth and final playoff spot in the LEC will be incredibly intense. Four teams, Schalke, Misfits, Excel, and Vitality, are all vying for that spot. They will likely need to go through tiebreakers to secure their place in the playoffs.

While these teams have shown moments of great play, their consistency has been questionable throughout the Spring Split. To have a shot at the playoffs, they need to bring their A-game in this superweek.

The last week of the 2021 LEC Spring Split regular season will begin on Friday, March 12 at 11am CT.
