Fredit BRION Unable to Secure Victory Against DWG KIA in 2021 LCK Spring Split
The highly-anticipated matchup between Fredit BRION and DWG KIA in the 2021 LCK Spring Split did not disappoint. Although DK had only suffered one loss this season to BRO, they showcased a much-improved form and emerged victorious with a 2-0 series win.
Outstanding Performances by BeryL and Khan
The MVP votes went to BeryL and Khan for their exceptional performances on Gragas and Sion, respectively. BeryL’s use of Gragas in the first game denied multiple kill opportunities from BRO and provided excellent map coverage and teamfight presence. Khan, on the other hand, proved to be an unkillable machine with his Sion pick, dealing the most damage while also receiving the most damage. Teams often ban his Sion due to the immense pressure he exerts and his ability to serve as a frontline for his team.
Highlights from the Series
In the first game, BRO put up a good fight and secured early leads and neutral objectives. However, they fell behind in vision coverage and farm, allowing DK to reach their power spikes and dominate the game. DK finished the first game in 36 minutes after securing a second Baron. The second game showcased a more dominant DK, controlling the pace of the game from start to finish. BRO struggled to deal with Khan’s Sion and ultimately lost the match and series.
DK Maintains Their Lead
With this victory, DK maintains their first-place position in the 2021 LCK Spring Split standings with a record of 13-1. They hold a three-win lead over Gen.G, who currently sits in second place.
DK’s next match is scheduled for Sunday, March 14 against Nongshim RedForce. Given their impressive performance this season, it appears to be a straightforward match for DK.
