Team Spirit Advances to Dota 2’s The International Grand Final with Dominant Win over LGD

In an impressive display of skill, Team Spirit has secured their place as the first team to reach the grand final of Dota 2’s The International. They achieved a decisive 2-0 victory over the Chinese team, LGD.

The standout player of the series was Yatoro, who averaged over 950 gold per minute across the two maps. His exceptional performance led to the downfall of the LGD roster. LGD made a critical error in game one by allowing Spirit’s Collapse to play as Magnus.

This mistake proved costly, as Collapse became a central figure for Spirit, while both teams focused on the late game. Yatoro’s efficiency on Terrorblade, combined with Collapse’s superb team play and catch potential, secured Spirit’s victory in 76 minutes.

Despite LGD’s tenacity and ability to extend the game, they faced setbacks due to the outstanding performance of niu’s Centaur Warrunner. However, consecutive late-game team fights, where LGD’s carry shiro was quickly eliminated, weakened the Chinese squad. Spirit capitalized on this opportunity, giving them a significant advantage.

If game one was closely contested, game two was completely dominated by Team Spirit. Yatoro showcased the strength of Morphling, proving that he was an excellent pick. Collapse, playing the Chaos Knight this time, was equally ruthless. By the end of the match, the duo had farmed more than the entire LGD team.

Silent, the coach of Team Spirit, expressed confidence in his team’s performance from the beginning. He stated, “The game was in our favor from the start. Their lineup struggled with taking towers due to Doom, Magnus, and Spectre, allowing us to play aggressively.”

In the end, LGD managed to deal just 29 tower damage, all of which was done by their position four support, planet. Team Spirit dismantled LGD efficiently and effectively.

The Spirit organization will compete for their second Aegis of Champions tomorrow against the winner of the lower bracket final. LGD will face the winner between Gaimin Gladiators and Azure Ray, who are currently playing.
