Gambit and Secret Take the Lead at ESL One Katowice

Group A Favorites Head into Final Day of ESL One Katowice

After two thrilling days of action, there are two clear favorites in Group A heading into the final day of ESL One Katowice’s group stage. Team Secret, the current No. 1 team in the world, sits atop the group with a 7-1 record. They started the tournament by splitting their series against OG. Despite a tightly contested first game, Secret bounced back with a decisive win in the second game. After that initial match, Secret dominated their opponents, winning six games in a row against For The Dream, Forward Gaming, and Mineski.

Gambit Esports is also at the top of the standings with a 7-1 record. Like Secret, they split their opening series against Forward, but went on to win against FTD and OG. They faced some competition from Mineski, but Gambit executed well in the crucial moments to secure their spot in first place.

Both Team Secret and Gambit Esports are guaranteed to move on to the next stage of the event as the top seeds from their group. OG is in third place with a 4-4 record and will likely move on with them. However, Mineski and Forward are in a tough position as they need to win on the final day to avoid elimination from the tournament. Two of the teams between Mineski, Forward, and last-place FTD will be eliminated.

The playoffs at ESL One Katowice will begin on February 21 at 10:30am CT.
