The Bucharest Minor kicked off with intense competition in Group A as teams battled it out for a spot in the playoff’s Upper Bracket.
Keen Gaming vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas
The first match of the day was between China’s Keen Gaming and Europe’s Ninjas in Pyjamas. Keen Gaming dominated the first game, demonstrating their superior skills and unique strategies. Although NiP fought back in the second game, Keen ultimately secured a 2-1 victory.
Gambit Esports vs. Team Team
Gambit Esports, the favorite going into the match, faced off against Team Team from North America. Team Team surprised everyone with a game one victory, but Gambit quickly turned the tables by dominating game two. In a close game three, Gambit secured a 2-1 win.
The Winners’ Match
The winners of the opening matches, Keen Gaming and Gambit Esports, met in the Winners’ Match to determine the top seed of Group A. Gambit continued their winning streak, defeating Keen Gaming in both games and securing the top seed.
The Losers’ Match
In the Losers’ Match, NiP and Team Team fought to avoid elimination. Despite a close battle, NiP proved to be the stronger team and secured a 2-0 victory.
Rematch: Keen Gaming vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas
NiP had another chance to face Keen Gaming in a rematch. However, Keen Gaming maintained their dominance, winning both games and securing the second seed from Group A.
Next Up: Group B
With Group A’s matches concluded, Group B is set to start their competition on January 10. Playmakers Esports will take on EHOME in the first match.
