Evil Geniuses dominate Galaxy Battles, secure grand finals berth

Galaxy Battles II: Emerging Worlds Approaches Exciting Conclusion

The highly anticipated end of Galaxy Battles II: Emerging Worlds is just around the corner, with a staggering $250,000 in prize money awaiting the eventual champions. At this point, six out of the eight teams still remain in the tournament, and although tomorrow’s lower bracket games will be challenging with all of them being best-of-one matches, the competition is heating up.

Evil Geniuses had an outstanding performance on the second day of the tournament. They managed to defeat OG, pushing them down to the lower bracket where they will face off against TNC, their Southeast Asian rivals. Evil Geniuses also triumphed over Vici Gaming J Thunder, securing their spot in the next round.

The North American team got off to a strong start against OG, securing a victory in just 25 minutes and 24 seconds in the first game. It was a complete bloodbath in favor of Evil Geniuses, with all three cores displaying perfect kill/death ratios. After gaining a 5,000 gold advantage within the first 10 minutes, EG maintained their lead for the rest of the map, preventing any chance of a comeback from OG.

The second game followed a similar pattern, even though it lasted about five minutes longer than the previous one. Artour “Arteezy” Babaev chose to play Phantom Lancer with a Battle Fury, taking inspiration from Marc Polo Luis “Raven” Fausto. Arteezy’s dominating performance led to seven kills against the Europeans, allowing him to accumulate almost 800 gold per minute.

Supported by Syed “SumaiL” Hassan on Death Prophet and Clinton “Fear” Loomis on Lifestealer, OG couldn’t resist the relentless assault by EG. After a fierce battle, Evil Geniuses emerged victorious and advanced to the next round.

In their initial match against VGJ Thunder, Clinton “Fear” Loomis took charge for EG. Taking over the mid lane from SumaiL, who played a solo safelane Tidehunter, Fear dominated with a 14-4 statline and 27,000 points of hero damage using Death Prophet. However, SumaiL also showcased his skills with an impressive score of 6-1, despite playing in an unfamiliar role.

In the second game, VGJ Thunder exposed EG’s vulnerability for the first time that day. With a significant gold advantage of almost 15,000, the Chinese team seemed poised for victory. However, EG’s Arteezy started gaining momentum in terms of farm, and it was ultimately the exceptional support from new recruit Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen and former captain Andreas Franck “Cr1t-” Nielsen that saved Arteezy from imminent demise, leading to EG’s triumph.

In the end, not even Liu “Sylar” Jiajun’s Divine Rapier on Luna could prevent EG’s comeback.

The thrilling action of Galaxy Battles II continues tonight at 8:30pm ET, with the lower bracket match between TNC Pro Team and OG. Following that, Team Spirit and paiN Gaming will face off. Make sure to catch the conclusion on Beyond the Summit’s official coverage on Twitch.
