Ame Takes Time Off from Competitive Play in Surprise Announcement

Ame, one of the most respected position-one players in the world of Dota 2, has revealed that he will be taking a break from competitive play. This news comes as a surprise to fans, as PSG.LGD has been one of the most consistent teams in the game’s history.

With even an Aegis trophy in their collection, LGD has consistently placed in the top six at The International since 2017. Ame has played a crucial role in the team’s success since he was recruited from CDEC Youth.

Ame has been a constant presence in multiple iterations of the LGD roster, which have always been just one step away from greatness. Although Ame fell short of lifting the Aegis twice in his career, he consistently secured top-four placements in the remaining years, except for TI11.

However, TI11 marked LGD’s worst result in the event since 2017, with a fifth-place finish. Knocking on the door of success so many times, only for it to remain closed, can take a toll on a player’s mindset. It appears that Ame is seeking a complete refresh with this break.

LGD stated, “We’re following the player’s wishes and respecting his personal development needs. Ame’s status is inactive, temporarily away for rest.”

The future of Ame is currently unknown, but it seems that he has the full support of LGD regardless of his decision. After competing at the top level of Dota 2 for six years, this break is well-deserved for the Uncrowned King, whom fans hope to see crowned upon his return.

With one of its pillars removed from the roster, LGD now has only two active squad members, NothingToSay and y’. This opens the door for a major rebuild.
