Dota 2 sees slight changes with Balance Patch 7.06b

Dota 2 Patch 7.06b Brings Minor Hero Changes

Dota 2’s latest patch, 7.06b, was released yesterday with some small tweaks to a few heroes.

The patch was announced after the conclusion of StarLadder-i League Invitational #2. Although it only includes five changes to four heroes, it is still significant. Like most balance patches, 7.06b aims to improve underutilized heroes while toning down the most popular ones in the metagame.

Despite the major changes introduced in patch 7.06, professional Dota 2 matches have mostly stuck to the same heroes and strategies from the previous patch.

One of the popular heroes in 7.05, Troll Warlord, remains a top pick in 7.06, but received a slight nerf to their agility growth. On the other hand, Sven, who was underutilized in most lineups, received significant buffs in 7.06. The changes in 7.06b, such as slower base attack time and a reduction in bonus strength from Sven’s ultimate ability, God’s Strength, balance out those improvements.

Additionally, Broodmother, who is usually picked situationally, received an HP regeneration bonus while on her webs, and Monkey King’s ultimate ability now deals slightly more damage, reducing the extreme nerf it experienced in 7.06.

You can find the full list of changes in 7.06b on the Dota 2 website.

It remains to be seen how these changes will impact the metagame. Patch 7.06b will be implemented in competitive play today as Infamous faces Noblewingz in the playoffs of the Dota 2 BEAT Invitational.
