Doinb signs with LNG Esports for 2022 LPL season.

Former FunPlus Phoenix star Doinb joins LNG Esports as starting mid laner

Former FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) star Doinb has officially joined LNG Esports as the starting mid laner for the upcoming 2022 League of Legends season. Doinb, who spent the last three seasons with FPX and won the League World Championship with the team in 2019, brings his expertise and skill to the LNG roster.

A new addition to LNG Esports

Doinb joins LNG Esports after the team’s impressive performance at Worlds. Although the team fell just short of qualifying for the quarterfinals in a last-chance tiebreaker against MAD Lions, they proved their strength on the international stage.

In 2022, LNG Esports will retain four of the five players from their Worlds-qualifying lineup. Top laner Ale, jungler Tarzan, and the bottom lane duo of Light and Iwandy remain under contract with the team for the upcoming season. However, the team recently parted ways with mid laner Icon after just one season together.

Doinb stands out as the first-ever foreign player to qualify for residency in the Chinese domestic league, known as the LPL, back in 2019. The South Korean player has played his entire career with Chinese teams, showcasing his dedication and talent.

Despite FPX being heavily favored, Doinb and his former team failed to advance past the group stage at Worlds this year. However, Doinb’s performance throughout the 2021 LPL Summer Split earned him the MVP award, and he led FPX to back-to-back finals appearances in domestic play.

Doinb is set to make his debut with LNG Esports in the upcoming LPL Spring Split, although an official start date for the 2022 season has not yet been announced by the league.
