Dignitas secures fifth seed in LCS Mid-Season Showdown, ushering in an all-NA team after years.

Dignitas’ All-NA Roster Shines in 2021 LCS Spring Split

The 2021 LCS Spring Split will be remembered for the import rule controversies. However, one team, Dignitas, stood their ground with their all-NA roster. Despite losses to TSM and Cloud9, they secured a major comeback victory over FlyQuest in the final weekend of the split. This accomplishment marks the first time since the summer of 2015 that a team with an all-NA roster has made it to the playoffs.

Dignitas will start the Mid-Season Showdown in the losers bracket and await the outcome of the Cloud9 vs. 100 Thieves match on March 21. On March 28, they will face the losers of that match.

This achievement is especially notable considering Dignitas struggled in the previous split and finished in last place. While NA has relied on imports for success in the past, Dignitas has been a force to be reckoned with this split. Despite facing powerhouse teams like TSM and Evil Geniuses, they’ve performed exceptionally well. The team’s Twitter account has even embraced the controversy, acknowledging that they are setting the tone for the future of the LCS.

Fans and analysts have praised Dignitas’ lineup of FakeGod, Dardoch, Soligo, Neo, and Aphromoo for their outstanding performances. This all-NA roster has proven that there is potential in teams consisting solely of NA players. They are now aiming to make a statement at the Mid-Season Showdown and potentially at the Mid-Season Invitational in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Dignitas’ success with their all-NA roster during a time when the import rule dominates discussions in the League community signals a new era for the LCS, where up-and-coming NA talent is acknowledged and embraced. The 2021 Mid-Season Showdown will begin on March 20.
