Israeli Esports Organization Finest Shuts Down Professional Divisions

Israeli esports organization Finest has made the decision to close down its professional divisions, including its teams in CS:GO and VALORANT, after nearly two years of operations.

According to Finest, the closure was not anticipated and was a result of key investors withdrawing their financial support. This was attributed to the current macro-economic challenges faced by the world and the speculative nature of owning an esports team.

However, this closure does not mark the end of the Finest brand. The organization plans to shift its focus to “the gaming and esports industries” and explore opportunities in technologies, products, and services in the future.

Notably, Finest had a strong international CS:GO team featuring former players from Fnatic and Ninjas in Pyjamas, such as Simon “twist” Eliasson and Aleksander “hades” Miskiewicz. These players are expected to become free agents, despite the timing being less than ideal due to roster lock constraints imposed by the IEM Rio Major.

Earlier this year in June, Finest reached its highest ranking of 19th in the world according to HLTV’s rankings. The team consisted of Guy “anarkez” Trachtman, twist, PlesseN, shokz, and kreaz. They notably emerged as champions in May’s Pinnacle Cup IV, defeating Eternal Fire.
