What’s the Best Spot in Call of Duty: Nuketown or Rust?

In the ongoing debate about the best spot to one-vs-one in Call of Duty, there’s never been a clear-cut answer. This debate has been raging for years, and it’s focused on two small maps: Nuketown and Rust.

Rust vs. Nuketown: A Battle of the Small Maps

Rust made its debut in the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 back in 2009, while Nuketown followed in 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops. Both maps have become iconic over the years, hosting countless grudge matches and battles. Even ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has weighed in on the debate.

Stephen A. Smith’s Take on the Debate

The 56-year-old TV personality, known for his sports commentary, recently joined the gamer discussion on his ESPN show. During a segment where he answered questions from Twitter, he shared his opinion on the Nuketown vs. Rust debate. Unsurprisingly, the question came from the official Twitter account of 100 Thieves.

Stephen A. Smith Prefers Rust

Stephen A. Smith confidently stated, “It’s Call of Duty, baby, I know this. I’m gonna tell you this. Rust. It’s what I like, you understand?” However, his preference for Rust goes beyond gameplay. Smith sees Rust as a hardcore town ready to handle business and overcome adversity.

Despite his personal preference, Smith may not realize that Rust is actually an oil yard in the middle of a desert. It was originally the setting for the final battle in the OG MW2 campaign. On the other hand, Nuketown is a town built to simulate the effects of a nuclear blast, complete with mannequins as stand-ins for human beings.

So, Mr. Smith, maybe it’s time for you to jump into Call of Duty and experience these maps firsthand. Whether it’s for the gameplay or the lore behind them, there’s a lot to learn and enjoy.
