Ana rejoins OG alongside Topson, roles reshuffled

OG’s Dota 2 team has a full roster again.

Both Gustav “s4” Magnusson and Tal “Fly” Aizik joined Evil Geniuses last week. But yesterday, the team announced on their official Facebook page that Anathan “Ana” Pham is making a comeback.

Ana is well-known for his time with the 2016-2017 OG roster. They won both the Boston Major and the Kiev Major. However, they weren’t able to replicate their success at TI7, where they were eliminated in the top eight by LGD Gaming. After that, Ana left the team.

Joining Ana is Finnish player and streamer Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen. He has played with tier two teams such as SFTe-sports and Five Anchors No Captain. Topson will be taking over the solo mid role that used to belong to Ana.

Prior to the new medal-based ranking system, Topson’s MMR was 8884, showing his untapped potential. His Dotabuff profile reveals his proficiency with mid heroes like Invoker, Monkey King, and Storm Spirit, which we might see him play as part of OG.

The rest of the lineup will be adjusting their roles to accommodate Ana and Topson. Johan “n0tail” Sundstein will be playing support for the first time since 2015, when he was with Cloud9. Sébastien “Mad” Debs will be taking over the offlane slot left empty by s4. Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka will continue as the utility support player.

Fans will have the chance to see the new OG roster in action during the European open qualifiers for The International 8, which are set to begin this month.
